To immediately squelch all rumors, the James Bay Community Market is full steam ahead for the 2014 season. Forget the eye sore of the land application sign on our beloved corner of Superior and Menzies, because come May 3 it will be replaced by white tent tops, fresh goodies, new crafts, farm produce, live music and familiar faces.

We are well underway with planning this year’s market season and with a very successful 2013 season behind us, we are building upon the momentum created from seasons past. At our AGM in January we shared success stories, offered a balanced budget and voted in a whopping thirteen board members. Yes, we do care about our market and its continued growth and expansion!

The James Bay Community Market is what it says it is. It’s in James Bay, it’s for community created by the community, and it offers the outdoor tradition of supporting and sharing in the abundance of the locals.  Speaking of locals we’d love to have you join us!

We are currently in the process of accepting applications for vendors, musicians and volunteers. As the saying goes, ‘If you build it they will come!’ and we most certainly have, and will be building our special summer market.

We are members of Tourism Victoria and the BC Farmers Market Association, and we are in the process of getting the word out there to not only the locals, but to those who want a taste of true Victoria and how the locals live. We encourage you all to join us each and every Saturday from May to Thanksgiving as vendors, shoppers, supporters and to share in the magic of our growing James Bay Community Market.
